We decided that there would be no agenda in Auckland, so we just wandered, and then wandered some more.
Auckland is home to incredibly good Vietnamese restaurants (which is where we spent a lot of our evenings) as well as a huge collection of brilliant vintage and second hand shops.
Unfortunately I was too distracted by Calamity Jane style tassle jackets and the endless rows of books in St Kevin’s Arcade to take any photos. This is a great website though if you are in Auckland and fancy an afternoon/ week long vintage shopping trip.
As nice as it is, there are quite a few scruffs in Auckland. This gentleman was defacing Michaelangelo’s ‘Sitting Moses’ statue.
After our days of retail therapy and generally meandering around aimlessly, we got our arses in gear and walked up Mt Eden which is a dormant volcanoe and also Aucklands highest natural isthmus.
I think this may be the furthest I have ever been from home. Our journey back begins, with a few more adventures of the way, no doubt.
