The journey to Hamner Springs was one of the best yet, the road snakes through picture perfect mountain ranges topped with a dusting of snow.
We spent the day stopping at view points and putting on additional layers the closer we got to Hamner.
Once we had arrived, we had one thing on our minds … hot springs! Which is where we spent the evening. You can’t beat being in a 40 degree spa pool while gazing up at the Milky Way.
Our toasty evening was followed by a frosty morning; the temperature fell to minus four overnight. In hindsite it probably wasn’t the best time to be staying in an unpowered (no heater) campsite.
But we survived.
