I was super excited about visiting Gili Air after hearing so many good things. Luke went a few years back and fancied Flores instead so I headed there solo for some more R&R.

There are 3 Gili islands. Air is just right for most people – not too crazy not too quiet, Meno is more secluded and Trawangan is the party island. I decided to catch a boat over to Meno for a day to indulge in the isolation.

Walking around the coast took around two hours but could probably be done in half that time if you’re not meandering back and forth along the beach and taking ridiculous amounts of photos like me.

I was lucky enough to meet this lovely lady at yoga on my first night, after that we spent the majority of our time together … Mostly at Mowies – the best sunset spot in town.

I had to drag myself away from this beautiful island, next stop Ubud.
