From Inle lake we made our move north to the hiking town of Hsipaw. The word hike has always petrified me but I decided I wanted to give it a go and I don’t tend to do things by half so naturally I signed up for a three day two night hike and hoped for the best.
Our group of fellow hikers & guide Joe 🙂
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the first day although my legs had the shock of their life. This was the village where we spent our first night.
We stayed in this little girls house, she was super cute and absolutely fascinated by this balloon which had a tiny hole in, she blew it up and listened to the air come out over and over again. When she’d had enough of that game she decided she wanted to show us around so we followed our miniature tour guide through the cobbled streets of this beautiful rural village.
This is the school she will join when she’s a little older.
This is Momma (actually Nanna)
Day 2 …
Day 2 was much more relaxed, we walked across the hill tops through more towns and villages, winding dirt tracks and a forest before arriving at the village where we would spend the night.
This is Mandy, the chicken whisperer.
We stayed in this little one’s house, he was so adorable and loved his pet rooster a lot more than the rooster loved him.
The local children were fascinated by our cameras and wanted to flick through every photo whilst simultaneously pressing every button.
Nanna was a goddess of fire, she had it blazing within two minutes.

I’ve loved these three days & am looking forward to future hikes (I never thought those words would come out of my mouth)
