Inle lake is ginormous and full of things to see and do so we hired a boat for the day and cruised around to get sneak peak of what life is like for the locals living in houses on stilts.
I could watch Myanmar fisherman all day, the way they catch fish is so unusual.
The local petrol station.
I think it’s fair to say this house is on its last legs, I was gobsmacked when I saw people still living inside.
The local market selling handicrafts, cattle & fresh produce.
We visited a local cotton, silk & lotus weaving house which produces the most beautiful selection of scarfs. It was so nice seeing how these develop from their raw form, are boiled, separated, dyed and weaved into fabric.
These ladies are weavers and also belong to a tribe of long necks.
