It’s not what you think…
We were dubious about visiting Ko Phi Phi as we heard that developers had erected giant buildings along the coast after the tsunami hit in 2004. I have no idea what people were talking about, the coast is lined with little thatched beach shacks and small bars. It is one of Thailands main party islands so eighteen year old backpackers are everywhere you look with a bottle of Chang in each hand. Saying that there is definitely something for everyone. We had two brilliant nights out, the live music on this island is on point.
This is the cave where they source birds nests for the famous Thai speciality; birds nest soup.
We went on a snorkelling trip around a few islands including Maya Bay (where The Beach was filmed). It was such a beautiful setting but you could hardly see the beach itself, tourists were packed in like sardines.
We got to meet this lovely lady 🙂
Mitchell & Yordi, our lovely friends from Amsterdam.
